Kent & Canterbury Go Live with LUNA 3D Test
3rd December 2025
We are delighted that the Canterbury department has gone live with their test of the LAP LUNA 3D Surface Guided Radiotherapy system! The Radiotherapy department at Kent and Canterbury Hospital worked diligently to develop their Radiotherapy workflow to incorporate SGRT and improve their patients’ treatment experience. Within one week, the department has already utilised LUNA 3D for their Breast, Thorax and Pelvis patients and are working on the roll out to more – an incredible effort from everyone involved!
“I am absolutely thrilled to be working with the Canterbury Radiotherapy team on LUNA 3D. Their passion, motivation and enthusiasm to change their scope of practice with a brand-new system was incredible to see. I am excited to see how this roll out of service enhances patient treatment; – feeling more in control of their time on the treatment couch. It is a pleasure to work with them”, said Lucy Griffiths, Sales Manager at OSL.
“Introducing LUNA 3D has been an exciting milestone for our department. The radiotherapy team at Canterbury have embraced this innovation with great positivity and professionalism, and we are already seeing the benefits for our patients. While the workflows are not yet fully implemented, this test opportunity is helping us evaluate the practical and clinical advantages of SGRT. Early feedback enhances patient comfort and confidence while reducing setup time. It’s a fantastic step forward in our vision for patient-centred, precision radiotherapy”, notes Madalena Fradoca, Radiotherapy Clinical Specialist at Kent Oncology Centre.

OSL, distributor of LAP for the UK, and LAP acknowledge the department in their achievement and are looking forward to observing the improvement of Radiotherapy patient care in the Kent and Canterbury area.
