Add Multi-Directional Motion to Existing Stationary Phantoms
The QUASAR™ Heavy Duty Respiratory Motion Platform is a programmable breathing and patient motion simulator for the quality assurance of motion-guided radiation therapy systems using any large-scale phantoms up to 45 kg (100 lbs). The Platform HD’s unique multi-directional motion simulation capability enables in-line translation with both the sagittal plane in the SI direction or at a user-defined rotated arrangement.
Balancing simple design and comprehensive testing capabilities, the QUASAR™ Heavy Duty Respiratory Motion Platform is easily integrated into any adaptive end-to-end QA protocols and pushes your respiratory motion management systems to their limits.

The QUASAR™ Heavy Duty Respiratory Motion Platform features a vertical chest-wall platform that is compatible with a number of Surface Guided Radiation Therapy Systems (SGRT), such as: Vision RT, C-RAD, Brainlab, and Varian Identify. Easily import patient-specific waveforms from various motion capture and waveform generating sources. Compatible with the following file formats: VXP, .CSV, .TXT, .DCM, .LOG, .DAF, .IMA
Equipped with a large 33.2 cm x 35 cm platform surface and accommodating up to 45 kg, the QUASAR™ Heavy Duty Respiratory Motion Platform is able to integrate multi-directional motion to most of the industry’s large-scale phantoms, including the ArcCheck©.
From its manual operation mode to its rapid 30° offset alignment wedge, the QUASAR™ Platform HD is an intuitive motion-management QA tool designed with the end-user in mind.
Easily adjust motion waveform amplitude and frequency with either local manual control at the motor or advanced programmable control at the software interface. Apply a user-defined rotated arrangement to your existing phantoms to create complex motion profiles. With playback of motion waveforms, complexity is elevated to test the limits of your motion management systems.
The QUASAR™ Platform HD exhibits detailed sensitivity when replicating captured or created waveforms. A highly responsive motor repositions the translation stage every 10 ms (100x per second) providing real-life breathing replication. Waveforms from 0-60BPM are easily replicated with sub-millimeter accuracy, allowing for the testing of a large range of clinical protocols.
Specialised feet support allows for the rapid indexing of the phantom in either a linear or 30° rotated offset arrangement for multidirectional motion capabilities. With acceleration and velocity parameters set correctly (according to the weight of the phantom), imported waveforms can be analyzed and modified so that they play back safely.
The intuitive programmable respiratory motion QA software is included with the QUASAR™ Heavy Duty Respiratory Motion Platform. This locally installed package enables the control of the phantom’s motion and customization of supplied and imported motion waveforms. An incorporated Deep Inspiration Breath Hold Function increases workflow efficiency for users to test DIBH protocols.
