Oncology Systems Limited (OSL) is committed to promoting sustainability, reducing the environmental impact of all our activities, and supporting the NHS in achieving its net zero ambitions. We aim to follow and promote good sustainability practices and help our customers, partners, and suppliers to do the same.
A. NET ZERO COMMITMENT
Oncology Systems Limited is committed to achieving Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 for our UK operations, covering Scope 1, Scope 2, and a defined subset of Scope 3 emissions.
This commitment was made on 24th March 2026 by Alice Pavey, Managing Director, Oncology Systems Limited.
This commitment covers:
- Scope 1 (direct emissions): Fuel used in company vehicles and any on-site heating/cooling at our Shrewsbury headquarters.
- Scope 2 (energy indirect emissions): Purchased electricity used to power our offices and facilities.
- Scope 3 (other indirect emissions — defined subset):
-
- Upstream transportation and distribution
-
- Waste generated in operations
-
- Downstream transportation and distribution
This aligns with the NHS Net Zero Supplier Roadmap and the UK Government’s PPN 006 requirements.

- To continually improve our sustainability performance.
C. ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT MEASURES IN EFFECT
The following carbon reduction measures are in effect and will be applied when performing NHS contracts:
Transport & Fleet
- All field-based staff have access to OSL’s Electric Vehicle Fleet, significantly reducing Scope 1 emissions from business travel.
- EV charging units are installed at OSL headquarters and are available to all staff.
- Unnecessary travel by car is reduced. The use of public transport, car sharing, and video conferencing is encouraged.
Energy & Buildings
- Full LED lighting installed at OSL headquarters in Shrewsbury.
- Energy-efficient equipment purchasing policy to reduce electricity consumption.
- Electricity purchased from a supplier committed to renewable energy, maximising the proportion from renewable sources while supporting investment in new renewable energy schemes.
Waste & Resources
- Paper and office consumable use is minimised (e.g., double-sided printing, digital-first approach).
- Packaging from suppliers is reused and materials are recycled using local facilities.
- Office waste is reused or recycled, including paper, computer supplies, and redundant equipment.
- Full compliance with WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) regulations for responsible disposal and recycling of electronic equipment.
Supply Chain Engagement
- OSL’s sustainability expectations are shared with suppliers and customers.
