DoseWire™ Series 200: a user-friendly dosimetry solution
DoseWire™ Series 200 is a CE-marked medical device enabling real-time in-vivo dosimetry during radiation therapy. The compact optical fibre sensors can be easily positioned at up to four locations during procedures, applied on a patient’s skin or introduced in natural and/or surgical cavities. Sensors are compatible with single-use sterile covers to ensure that safety and hygiene standards are met.
How does it work?
DoseVue’s patented technology works using scintillators: materials that convert ionising radiation into visible or near-visible light.
- When radiation hits the scintillator, the material fluoresces. The amount of light is proportional to the amount of radiation.
- The light emitted by the scintillators is converted into an electrical signal.
- By processing this signal, the dose rate of the radiation is quantified and presented in real-time by means of a user-friendly graphical interface.
